Principal Officer – Systems Analyst

About the role

The Zambia Public Procurement Authority (ZPPA) is seeking a Principal Officer – Systems Analyst to lead the analysis, design, implementation and support of its information systems. The role will ensure new software solutions meet business needs and that existing systems remain efficient, secure and compliant.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse business information requirements and recommend new software solutions.
• Develop detailed specifications for new systems and manage their development.
• Measure outcomes of software designs and oversee modifications to existing applications.
• Provide user training and support for newly deployed systems.
• Coordinate with development teams to ensure solutions meet end‑user requirements.
• Manage rollout, configuration and documentation of software implementations.
• Maintain system performance, scalability and adherence to data security and regulatory standards.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Full Grade 12 Certificate with at least five credits including English and Mathematics.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Software Engineering, Data Science or Systems Analytics.
• Minimum three years of experience in system analysis, design methodologies and the software development life‑cycle.
• Strong written and oral communication, computational and analytical abilities.
• Membership in a professional body is an advantage.

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
• Oracle Business Analysis certification.
• CompTIA IT Fundamentals certification.
• Certified Data Professional.
