Health and Nutrition Officer

About the role

The Health and Nutrition Officer will support the implementation of nutrition and health activities at the field level for Action Against Hunger. This role ensures integration of malnutrition management, community outreach, and capacity‑building initiatives across targeted regions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage acute malnutrition, MIYCAN, MAMi, ICCM, and SBCC programmes at health facilities and in community outreaches.
• Support capacity‑building of VHTs, care‑group volunteers, health workers and district partners.
• Supervise daily implementation of activities, monitor performance indicators and ensure alignment with project objectives.
• Serve as the primary interface between Action Against Hunger and beneficiary communities, handling participant identification, verification, and reporting.
• Collaborate with WASH and Food Security officers to ensure multi‑sectoral integration.
• Identify and troubleshoot field‑level implementation challenges and provide timely solutions.

Required profile

• Experience in health and nutrition programming, preferably in humanitarian or NGO settings.
• Proven ability to work with community health structures and coordinate with local partners.
• Strong monitoring, reporting and problem‑solving skills.
