Health and Nutrition Coordinator

About the role

The Health and Nutrition Coordinator will lead the design, implementation, and monitoring of high‑quality health and nutrition programmes in Zambia, ensuring alignment with Action Against Hunger’s strategic objectives and donor requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver health and nutrition projects that meet country and sectoral strategies.
• Provide technical and strategic advice to project staff and ensure compliance with donor guidelines.
• Lead capacity‑building initiatives for nutrition staff and oversee continuous technical support.
• Conduct field visits, analyse the humanitarian health and nutrition context, and contribute to programme design and proposal writing.
• Support fundraising, recruitment, and procurement activities as needed.
• Coordinate with logistics, HR, finance, and program teams to ensure timely delivery of interventions.
• Liaise with government ministries, development partners, civil society, the private sector, research institutions, and academia.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading health and nutrition programmes in humanitarian or development settings.
• Strong knowledge of donor regulations, humanitarian standards, and best practices in nutrition.
• Excellent analytical skills to assess country contexts and inform programme design.
• Ability to represent the organisation externally and build effective partnerships.
