Health and Nutrition Specialist

About the role

The Health and Nutrition Specialist provides technical leadership, quality assurance, and strategic oversight for integrated health and nutrition interventions. The role ensures delivery of evidence‑based, life‑saving services in line with national IMAM guidelines, SPHERE standards, DG ECHO requirements and Ministry of Health protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight for CMAM/IMAM, MNCH/RMNCH and primary health care programmes.
• Lead design, adaptation and contextualisation of protocols and SOPs, ensuring integration of nutrition, health, WASH and protection.
• Supervise implementation at health centres, health posts and community platforms, guaranteeing functional OTP and inpatient services.
• Design and deliver competency‑based training for health workers, community volunteers and partner staff.
• Manage supply chain for essential medicines and nutrition commodities (RUTF, F‑75, F‑100, medical kits), including forecasting, procurement planning and stock monitoring.
• Ensure accurate data collection and analysis using DHIS2 and CMAM/IMAM databases, leading programme reviews and learning.
• Represent the organisation in health and nutrition cluster meetings and coordinate with MoH, UN agencies and local partners.

Required profile

• Technical expertise in health and nutrition interventions, especially CMAM/IMAM and MNCH.
• Knowledge of national and international standards (IMAM, SPHERE, DG ECHO).
• Experience strengthening health systems and supervising multidisciplinary teams.
