Specialist Training – Fixed Plant Mechanical Maintenance

About the role

The Specialist Training role supports engineering and operational teams by identifying training needs, designing mechanical maintenance programmes and delivering effective learning solutions. The position ensures staff competence, improves plant efficiency and aligns training with short‑ and long‑term operational goals.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with engineering sections to determine mechanical training and development needs.
• Coordinate with planning to address training related to machine breakdowns and defects.
• Assess employee competence levels and consolidate a comprehensive mechanical technical training plan.
• Develop, update and maintain theory and practical mechanical training packages.
• Select appropriate training methods and schedule sessions with supervisors.
• Evaluate instructional effectiveness and measure impact on key performance indicators.
• Identify training needs during breakdowns, shutdowns and planned maintenance.
• Maintain training records and matrices in the approved Learning Management System.
• Promote safe work habits and ensure compliance with health, safety, environment and quality regulations.

Required profile

• Ability to perform essential functions related to mechanical training and maintenance.
• Strong understanding of health, safety, environment and quality requirements.
• Experience in developing and delivering technical training programmes.
• Effective communication with stakeholders and supervisors.
