Surveyor – MRO Procurement Specialist

About the role

Twyford International is looking for a proactive Surveyor (Fulfilment Buyer) to join its Procurement Team in Zambia. The role focuses on sourcing and managing non‑metal raw materials and MRO spare parts essential for continuous production.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive surveys of raw materials such as ceramics, cement and glass‑related inputs to secure high‑quality, cost‑effective sources.
• Analyse geological data and field reports to assess deposit quality, sustainability and extraction feasibility.
• Oversee mining and supply operations, ensuring material availability while complying with company specifications and regulations.
• Build and maintain relationships with mining firms, survey organisations and government geological departments.
• Lead supplier identification, qualification and negotiation to achieve favourable commercial terms.
• Monitor market trends and technological developments in non‑metal materials to optimise sourcing strategies.
• Ensure all activities meet environmental, health and safety standards and relevant regulations.
• Provide technical input on material specifications, testing and performance optimisation.
• Prepare detailed survey reports, cost analyses and procurement forecasts for management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Mining Engineering, Materials Science or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in MRO sourcing, raw‑material surveying or procurement.
• Strong geological background with the ability to evaluate deposits and sustainability.
• Proven experience in supplier management and negotiation.
• Good knowledge of environmental, health and safety regulations.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
