Artisan Fitter – Temporary Position at Rufunsa Mining Site

About the role

The Artisan Fitter will support the Project Manager by keeping the mineral processing unit and its ancillary equipment in optimal condition. This temporary position is based at the Rufunsa mining camp and requires a hands‑on approach to ensure uninterrupted production throughout the project.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections of the mineral processing unit.
• Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment as needed.
• Follow workplace health, safety, and environment (HSE) standards and report any hazards immediately.
• Maintain compliance with safety regulations and operational procedures.
• Identify critical spare parts and consumables, procure and stock them on‑site.
• Consult manufacturers’ manuals to determine replacement intervals and suggest procedural improvements.
• Report defects, breakdowns, and repairs promptly.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Supervisor.
• Work shifts, including weekends, when required.

Required profile

• Grade 12 certificate.
• Craft/Technician Certificate in Plant Fitting or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ/ERB).
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar fitting or maintenance role.
• Physically fit and able to work in remote, project‑site conditions.
