Tailings Storage Facility Coordinator

About the role

The Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) Coordinator will lead day‑to‑day operations of the TSF at Lumwana Copper Mine. Reporting to the TSF Superintendent, the role ensures safe, compliant, and efficient management of all TSF operational teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the TSF, including the Operations, Piping & Pumping, and Laboratory teams.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of TSF design basis, construction history, and performance objectives.
• Participate in Potential Failure Mode Analysis (PFMA), risk assessments, and Critical Controls Management Plan updates.
• Support the Superintendent in maintaining the OMS Manual and deliver operational training on OMS and TARP protocols.
• Conduct routine inspections, complete inspection forms, and coordinate Dam Safety Inspections and Reviews.
• Monitor Quantitative Performance Objectives, trigger TARP responses, and report geotechnical, hydrological, and environmental data.
• Assist in preparing and testing the Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan.
• Maintain site records and document management in line with company standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in tailings facility or large‑scale mining operations.
• Strong understanding of safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements for TSF management.
