Workshop Manager - Large-Scale Agricultural Operation

About the role

An established agricultural operation is seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to lead workshop operations across multiple farming sites in Southern Zambia. The role involves taking ownership of a large mixed fleet of tractors, trucks, earthmoving equipment, implements, pumps and irrigation systems.

Key responsibilities

• Implement preventative maintenance programs
• Manage workshop teams, including mechanics, electricians and stores staff
• Oversee machinery reliability and fleet availability
• Manage irrigation pumps and centre pivot maintenance
• Control workshop stores, costs and procurement
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives

Required profile

• 10+ years maintaining agricultural machinery and heavy equipment
• 5+ years of workshop management experience
• Diesel mechanical trade qualification or related diploma
• Irrigation and pump system experience
• Excellent leadership and administration skills

Required skills

• Hydraulic, electrical and mechanical skills
• Machinery diagnostics
