Accounts Payable (AP) Accountant

About the role

Zalawi Haulage Limited, a Zambian road haulage company based in Chingola and part of the MSC Group, is looking for two Supplier Clerks (Accounts Payable) on a full-time basis. The role ensures smooth supplier relationship management, accurate record-keeping and timely processing of supplier transactions, with a strong emphasis on using the Syspro ERP system.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, verify and process supplier invoices and delivery notes in Syspro
• Maintain an up-to-date supplier database in Syspro
• Assist with supplier vetting and onboarding
• Track purchase orders and deliveries in Syspro and communicate with suppliers about them
• Reconcile supplier statements with company records in Syspro
• Support the Procurement Officer with reports and documentation
• Maintain physical and digital filing systems for supplier documents
• Ensure compliance with procurement and financial procedures

Required profile

• Grade 12 school certificate
• Diploma in Purchasing & Supply, Business Administration, Accounting or a related field (degree is an added advantage)
• At least 1-2 years of experience in procurement, supply chain or accounting
• Proven experience with Syspro ERP for procurement and supplier management
• Familiarity with procurement processes and supplier relationship management

• MS Office, especially Excel (other ERP/accounting software is an added advantage)
• Attention to detail, accuracy, organisation and record-keeping
• Good communication and ability to work under pressure
