Finance Trainee – 3‑Year Graduate Programme

About the role

First Quantum offers a three‑year Finance Trainee programme designed to develop well‑rounded professional accountants through on‑the‑job learning and continuous mentorship. Recent graduates will rotate across multiple finance functions while completing ZICA or an equivalent qualification.

Key responsibilities

• Identify efficiency improvement opportunities across finance processes.
• Support internal, external and other audits and address queries promptly.
• Maintain accurate schedules and reconciliations for sundry, staff and metal sales receivables.
• Prepare and post invoices, manage supplier invoices, and perform supplier account reconciliations.
• Assist with capital accounting tasks including AFEs, depreciation, asset register maintenance and capex reporting.
• Contribute to cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.

Required profile

• Graduated within the last two years.
• Enrolled or willing to enrol in ZICA or an equivalent professional accounting qualification.
• Strong analytical mindset and willingness to learn across finance domains.

Required skills

• ZICA (or equivalent) qualification.
• Knowledge of IFRS and capex policy.
• Experience with HFM for capex reporting.
• Fundamental accounting and financial reporting skills.
