Chief Executive Officer (CEO) – Non‑profit Education Leader

About the role

Tongabezi Trust School (TTS) is seeking a visionary and energetic leader to serve as Chief Executive Officer. The CEO will provide overall leadership, set strategic direction, and ensure operational effectiveness across TTS’s primary school, creative centre, scholarship programmes and adult training initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the refinement, updating and implementation of the organisation’s strategic development plan, vision and mission.
• Develop and execute a five‑year strategic business plan aligned with community needs.
• Provide guidance, mentorship and line‑management to the senior leadership team.
• Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting for the non‑profit.
• Drive fundraising, donor relations and the creation of sustainable revenue streams.
• Engage with government agencies, educational institutions, donors and rural communities to advance TTS’s mission.
• Represent the organisation publicly and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education Leadership and Management (or related field).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in a senior leadership role.
• Proven ability to lead diverse teams, manage senior staff and drive organisational change.
• Strong decision‑making, problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution capabilities.
• Demonstrated success in fundraising, donor engagement and developing sustainable revenue.
• Solid understanding of nonprofit financial processes, including budgeting and reporting.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Deep commitment to improving educational outcomes for marginalized communities.
• Knowledge of Tonga, Lozi or Nyanja is a strong asset; Zambian citizenship preferred.
