Chief Marketing Officer – Lead Growth & Brand

About the role

We are seeking a Chief Marketing Officer to build and scale the 4thrifters brand across Africa. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CMO will turn early traction into a category‑defining marketplace by leveraging our AI‑powered platform, sustainability mission, and fashion focus.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies aligned with company objectives and product roadmap.
• Lead brand positioning and customer acquisition across digital, social, content, partnership, and community channels.
• Track and analyze key performance metrics such as CAC, LTV, and conversion rates, optimizing spend and ROI.
• Manage marketing budgets efficiently and demonstrate measurable returns.
• Recruit, mentor, and scale a high‑performing marketing team as the company grows.
• Establish marketing processes, systems, and best practices.
• Collaborate with product, operations, and engineering teams to inform product and business decisions.
• Build strategic partnerships with creators, brands, sellers, and communities to expand distribution.
• Run growth experiments and A/B tests to improve conversion and retention.

Required profile

• Proven experience in marketing, growth, or brand‑building, preferably in early‑stage or small teams.
• Comfortable creating and managing campaign content while learning on the go.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work closely with the CEO and cross‑functional teams.
• Passion for sustainability, fashion, and building a brand from the ground up.
• Eagerness to take ownership, track metrics, and continuously optimize results.
