About the role
The Finance and Grants Officer will manage day‑to‑day financial transactions and grant administration for Action Against Hunger’s Zambia operations. Reporting to the Support Services Manager, the role ensures accurate budgeting, compliance with donor and internal policies, and timely financial reporting.
Key responsibilities
- Execute daily financial transactions and maintain accurate accounting records.
- Prepare and submit accountancy bundles and budget financial updates (BFUs) on schedule.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, IFRS, and Zambian government regulations.
- Collaborate with Program Managers, logistics, and administration teams to align financial and procurement processes.
- Record monthly commitments, recharges, and analytical entries.
- Perform bank reconciliations and verify bankbooks before the 5th of each month.
- Set up budgets, monitor expenditures, and support grant reporting.
Required profile
- Experience in finance or accounting within an NGO or humanitarian context.
- Strong knowledge of donor guidelines, IFRS, and governmental financial regulations.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and maintain high integrity.
- Attention to detail and commitment to timely, accurate reporting.
