Finance and Grants Officer

About the role

The Finance and Grants Officer will manage daily financial transactions and grant administration for Action Against Hunger Zambia. Reporting to the Support Services Manager, the role ensures accurate budgeting, compliance with donor and regulatory requirements, and effective use of resources.

Key responsibilities

• Execute day‑to‑day financial transactions and maintain accurate accounting records.
• Prepare and submit accountancy bundles, budget forecasts and financial statements on time.
• Verify bank books, perform monthly bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, IFRS standards and Zambian government regulations.
• Collaborate with program managers, logistics and administration teams to align budgets and procurement processes.
• Provide guidance on budgeting methodologies and internal controls to staff across the country office.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in finance, accounting or grants management, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
• Strong understanding of donor reporting requirements and financial compliance.
• Ability to work independently and support senior management on financial matters.
