Finance and Grants Officer

About the role
The Finance and Grants Officer will manage daily financial transactions and budget oversight for Action Against Hunger Zambia. Reporting to the Support Services Manager, the role ensures accurate accounting, compliance with donor and internal policies, and supports program and logistics teams.
Key responsibilities
- Execute day‑to‑day financial transactions and maintain accurate financial records.
- Prepare and submit accountancy bundles and budget financial updates (BFUs) on time.
- Verify bank statements, perform monthly bank reconciliations, and record commitments and recharges.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, IFRS standards, and Zambian government regulations.
- Collaborate with Program Managers, logistics, and administration teams to align financial processes with procurement policies.
- Provide guidance to staff on budgeting methodologies and accounting procedures.
Required profile
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to financial integrity.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
- Good understanding of nonprofit financial management and donor compliance.
- Effective communication skills for sharing financial information across the organization.
Required skills
- Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Experience with budgeting, bank reconciliation, and financial reporting.
