Finance and Grants Officer

About the role
The Finance and Grants Officer will manage day‑to‑day financial transactions and budgets for Action Against Hunger Zambia, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational, donor, and government policies.
Key responsibilities
- Execute daily financial transactions and manage budgets in line with internal and donor guidelines.
- Prepare and submit accurate accountancy bundles and budget financial updates (BFUs) on time.
- Collaborate with the Support Services Manager, Program Managers, logistics and administration teams to ensure proper financial controls and procurement compliance.
- Record monthly commitments, recharges, and analytical entries, verifying correctness.
- Perform bank reconciliations and verify bankbooks before the 5th of each month.
- Set up budgets and accounting parameters, ensuring adherence to IFRS, internal policies, and Zambian regulations.
- Disseminate accounting procedures and promote high standards of integrity and accountability across staff.
Required profile
- Experience in financial management within a nonprofit or humanitarian context.
- Familiarity with donor policies, IFRS, and government financial regulations.
- Ability to work collaboratively with senior management, program teams, and logistics staff.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to transparent resource utilization.
