About the role
Alfred H Knight, an independent family-owned business with offices and laboratories worldwide, is looking for Fire Assay Technicians to join its team in Kitwe, Zambia. You will carry out the operational procedures of classical fire assay methods, ensuring high precision, accuracy and efficient service on all samples sent to the lab for analysis.
Required profile
- At least 5 years of work experience in a fire assay laboratory, preferably in a commercial lab.
- Diploma in Laboratory Science/Technology or degree in Laboratory Science/Chemistry or a related chemical science (added advantage).
- Open, honest and hardworking, with a creative mindset.
Required skills
- Knowledge of LIMS for data management.
- Good knowledge of ISO 17025.
- Proven practical knowledge of gold (Au) analysis by fire assay; PGM experience is an added advantage.
- Hands-on experience with spectroscopic methods such as AAS or ICP.
