Food Technologist – Biscuit & Bakery Manufacturing

About the role

A growing food manufacturing company launching a new biscuit and bakery production facility in Kitwe, Zambia is looking for a qualified Food Technologist. The role supports the production team so that biscuit and bakery products meet quality standards, taste profiles and shelf-life expectations, and works closely with production and quality teams to optimise recipes for industrial-scale manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain biscuit and bakery product formulations
• Ensure consistent product quality and taste standards during production
• Monitor ingredient quality and ensure accurate product formulations
• Conduct quality checks on raw materials and finished products
• Support production teams in optimising baking processes and product consistency
• Implement food safety and quality control procedures in the manufacturing process
• Conduct shelf-life testing and product stability assessments

Required profile

• Degree in Food Technology, Food Science or a related discipline
• Experience in food manufacturing or bakery production; experience in biscuit manufacturing, industrial baking or snack food production is highly preferred
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability

Required skills

• Knowledge of food safety standards
• Understanding of ingredient functionality and production processes
