Graduate Mining Engineer

About the role

The Graduate Trainee will join First Quantum's structured development program, gaining hands‑on experience across mining operations at FQM Trident Limited. This role offers mentorship, on‑the‑job training and exposure to multiple business functions.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in structured on‑the‑job training programs across different departments.
• Support departmental projects, operations, and daily activities.
• Conduct research, data analysis, and reporting to aid decision‑making.
• Collaborate with senior staff and cross‑functional teams to optimise operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and company policies in all assigned tasks.
• Engage in continuous learning and skill development through mentorship and training sessions.
• Contribute innovative ideas and solutions to improve business processes.
• Maintain accurate documentation of tasks, findings and progress reports.

• Safety awareness and risk‑assessment methodologies.
• Problem‑solving ability through mini‑projects.
• Project management skills including planning, execution and reporting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
