Technical Advisor – Mobile Mining Equipment

About the role

First Quantum is seeking a Technical Advisor to lead predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance of mobile mining truck electrical systems. The role supports production targets while ensuring safety and environmental standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor equipment health and detect changes to enable repair‑before‑failure strategies.
• Train, coach and mentor technicians on safe, competent maintenance practices.
• Audit parts availability, manage upgrades and alternative replacements across the truck fleet.
• Assist technicians with planned and unplanned maintenance, backlog management and component lifecycle planning.
• Evaluate performance against Mobile Trucks KPIs and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• At least 5 years hands‑on experience with mining equipment, specifically Liebherr trucks and similar heavy‑mine machinery.
• Diploma or higher in Electrical Engineering with proven work on high‑voltage systems.
• Valid driver’s licence and experience in heavy‑mine environments.

Required skills

• Expert knowledge of high‑voltage and low‑voltage electrical systems.
• Proficiency with electrical schematics, OEM manuals and root‑cause analysis.
• Experience with condition monitoring, parts management and backlog control.
• Competence in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI (advantageous).
