Head of Audit – Zambia

About the role

The Head of Audit – Zambia will lead internal audit activities for Citi in Zambia, ensuring robust risk and control environments. Reporting to senior country management, this role combines local governance participation with global audit standards.

Key responsibilities

• Attend and contribute to local governance forums such as the Country Coordinating Committee, communicating audit activities to senior leaders.
• Provide timely information to the Audit Committee and, where applicable, the local Board.
• Represent Citi Internal Audit in regulator discussions and deliver on regulatory commitments.
• Perform international and local audits using Citi’s Internal Audit Methodology and professional standards.
• Lead, supervise and deliver assigned audits and regulatory validations within scope, budget and schedule.
• Partner with Citi IA subject‑matter experts to focus on critical priorities.
• Analyse the regulatory landscape, tailor audit scopes, draft reports and present findings to management.
• Track emerging issues through business monitoring and ensure timely regulatory reporting.
• Recommend corrective action plans and collaborate with quality assurance and management information teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of professional experience, at least 10 years in banking.
• At least 2 years in a senior audit or risk management role.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proven ability to interact with senior management and regulators.
• Self‑motivated, goal‑oriented with a strong work ethic.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
