Head of Finance

About the role

We are looking for a Head of Finance to lead the financial function in our Lusaka office. The role reports directly to the Managing Director and is responsible for ensuring robust financial control, accurate reporting and compliance with legislation and company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee budgeting, forecast preparation and variance analysis to support proactive decision‑making.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies, accounting standards and relevant legislation.
• Manage the ERP system for decentralized accounting transactions and maintain supporting documentation.
• Lead the Accounts Receivable function, implementing credit control measures to optimise cash flow.
• Coordinate payroll data export via Easyroster and monitor manpower costs.
• Prepare monthly results forecasts and analyse performance against budget.
• Supervise litigation, insurance and other financial claims.
• Manage and develop the Financial Officer and other finance team members.
• Participate in health and safety planning, reporting incidents and promoting safety compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Financial Management (Accounts II) or related field.
• Qualified CA or CIMA designation is highly beneficial.
• Minimum five years’ experience as a Senior Accountant.
• Knowledge of company law and security industry legislation is an advantage.
• Understanding of finance policies and procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP financial systems.
• Strong computer literacy for accounting applications.
