Senior Financial Accountant

About the role

Cosmic Computers, a growing IT solutions provider in Zambia, is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to lead the finance function across all branches. The role combines full‑cycle accounting, compliance, internal audit and strategic reporting to support the company’s expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and manage all books of accounts up to the preparation of financial statements.
• Oversee general ledger, cash‑book postings, reconciliations and journal entries.
• Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure accurate transaction recording.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE, income‑tax and other statutory returns in line with ZRA regulations.
• Conduct internal audits of stock, cash and sales operations and monitor internal controls.
• Manage credit control, monitor receivables and perform debtor reconciliations.
• Reconcile branch accounts, perform inventory counts and generate comprehensive financial reports for management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA or ZICA – Level II or higher) and registered ZICA member.
• Minimum 4 years progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or managerial responsibilities.
• Experience in the retail or ICT sector is an advantage.
• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems and strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
