Training Specialist – Heavy Equipment Repair

About the role
We are looking for a Training Specialist to lead the development and delivery of training programmes for Heavy Equipment Repair (HER) trainees within our mining operations. The role ensures trainees become competent, safe, and efficient in maintaining and repairing heavy equipment.
Key responsibilities
- Train and certify Heavy Equipment Repair trainees, overseeing their on‑the‑job modules.
- Develop and maintain training aids such as manuals, handbooks and assessment tools.
- Deliver training using classroom instruction, virtual platforms and on‑site coaching.
- Monitor trainee progress, compile reports and provide feedback to management.
- Maintain accurate training records and ensure workshop housekeeping standards.
- Coordinate off‑site training activities and liaise with external training suppliers.
- Continuously update training design and methodology to reflect industry best practices.
- Perform any other duties reasonably requested by the supervisor.
Required profile
- Minimum Grade 12 Certificate.
- Technician Certificate in Heavy Equipment Repair trade.
- Diploma in Teaching Methodology from a recognised institution.
- Member of an accredited trainer/assessor body (EIZTeveta, ZAQA).
- At least 3 years of relevant training experience in the mining industry.
