Finance and Grants Officer

About the role
The Finance and Grants Officer will manage day‑to‑day financial transactions and grant administration for Action Against Hunger Zambia. Working under the Support Services Manager, the role ensures accurate budgeting, compliance with donor and internal policies, and timely financial reporting.
Key responsibilities
- Execute daily financial transactions and manage budgets in line with organizational, donor, and IFRS guidelines.
- Prepare and issue accurate accountancy bundles on schedule.
- Collaborate with Program Managers, logistics, and administration teams to ensure compliance with procurement and internal control policies.
- Record monthly commitments, recharges, and analytical entries.
- Verify bankbooks and perform bank reconciliations before the 5th of each month.
- Disseminate accounting procedures and provide training to Zambia staff and country offices.
- Maintain high standards of integrity and accountability for resource utilization.
Required profile
- Strong knowledge of financial management policies, donor regulations, and IFRS standards.
- Experience in budget preparation, monitoring, and financial reporting.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple internal teams and ensure compliance with internal controls.
