Finance and Grants Officer

About the role
The Finance and Grants Officer will manage daily financial transactions and grant administration for Action Against Hunger’s Zambia operations. Reporting to the Support Services Manager, the role ensures accurate accounting, budget control, and compliance with donor and government regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Execute day‑to‑day financial transactions and maintain accurate accounting records.
- Prepare, monitor and adjust budgets, ensuring resources are used efficiently.
- Produce and submit timely accountancy bundles and financial reports.
- Verify bank statements and perform monthly bank reconciliations before the 5th of each month.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, IFRS standards and Zambian government regulations.
- Collaborate with program managers, logistics and administration teams to align financial processes with procurement and grant guidelines.
- Record monthly commitments, recharges and analytical entries accurately.
Required profile
- Experience in financial management and grant administration within an NGO or humanitarian context.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, accounting principles and donor compliance.
- Familiarity with IFRS and local government financial regulations.
- Ability to work collaboratively with program, logistics and administration teams.
