Finance Operations and Compliance Specialist

About the role

The Finance Operations and Compliance Specialist is the senior in‑country finance representative responsible for managing Zambia’s local financial operations, safeguarding assets and ensuring reliable financial information for business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable, supplier invoices, staff claims and commissions, ensuring accurate documentation, budget checks, tax treatment and approvals.
• Oversee inventory financial controls across warehouses and service centres, coordinate stock counts, reconcile records and handle obsolete or slow‑moving stock.
• Ensure timely tax filings, coordinate tax audits and lead the preparation of statutory financial statements in line with IFRS and group policies.
• Prepare and review reconciliations for payables, inventory, taxes, warranty balances and staff advances, supporting month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end reporting.
• Act as primary finance business partner to the Zambia Managing Director, providing guidance on expenditure, pricing, inventory, taxation and profitability.
• Strengthen internal controls, drive process improvements and automation, and coordinate resolution of internal and external audit findings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CIMA or ZICA.
• Minimum five years of finance experience covering taxation, statutory reporting, accounts payable, inventory controls and reconciliations.
• Experience in a multinational environment (renewable‑energy, FMCG, technology, manufacturing or distribution) is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of Zambian tax regulations, statutory reporting requirements and IFRS.
