Marketing Commercial Finance Business Partner

About the role

British American Tobacco Zambia is seeking a Marketing Commercial Finance Business Partner to lead and coordinate commercial finance activities across Zambia and Malawi. The role partners with end‑market leadership to drive sustainable growth, optimise pricing and investment decisions, and ensure robust financial planning and governance.

Key responsibilities

• Execute commercial planning cycles (SOP, Budget, Latest Estimates) aligned with strategic priorities.
• Support pricing strategy, revenue growth management and margin optimisation across markets.
• Provide decision support through financial analysis, insights and business case evaluation.
• Manage commercial finance governance and ensure compliance with BAT policies and control frameworks.
• Optimise trade spend, marketing OPEX/CAPEX and ROI performance.
• Partner with End Markets and cross‑functional teams (Marketing, Legal, Finance) to enhance commercial performance.
• Standardise and improve tools, processes and reporting across WESA.
• Support revenue assurance and credit risk management.
• Drive efficiency, automation and data‑driven decision‑making in commercial finance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or related discipline.
• Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA or CA).
• At least 5 years’ experience in commercial finance, FP&A or business partnering.
• Strong understanding of pricing, route‑to‑market and consumer dynamics, preferably in FMCG.
• Advanced financial modelling and analytical capabilities.
• Knowledge of financial controls, governance and IFRS standards.
