Mechanical Supervisor – Crushers & Conveyor Belts

About the role

The Mechanical Supervisor will lead the Crushers & Conveyor Belts maintenance team at Lumwana Mining Company. Reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator, you will ensure safe, efficient operation of all maintenance activities and resources.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily work of boilermakers, fitters, lubricators, contractors and related equipment.
• Manage shift rosters, annual and sick leave to guarantee continuous coverage.
• Conduct daily toolbox talks and safety meetings to uphold health, safety and environmental standards.
• Prioritise and execute weekly maintenance schedules, focusing on critical tasks.
• Develop, implement and regularly update SOPs for all maintenance tasks.
• Operate in full compliance with directives from the Maintenance Coordinator.
• Evaluate performance, identify gaps and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Promote safe work practices and ensure adherence to statutory and company safety regulations.

Required profile

• Full Grade 12 certificate.
• Advanced Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Metal Fabrication or a related discipline.
• Minimum three (3) years proven experience in crushers and conveyor structural maintenance within mining or heavy‑industrial environments.
• Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with SAP or a similar CMMS/ERP system.
• Valid Zambian driver’s licence.
• Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).
