Temporary Finance Officer – REACH Malaria Project

About the role

PATH is seeking a Temporary Finance Officer to support the US Department of State‑funded REACH Malaria project. The role provides finance and operations assistance to the Senior Finance and Awards Manager, ensuring smooth financial processes for a global health initiative.

Key responsibilities

• Process program advances and review invoices from vendors in a timely manner.
• Administer funds and manage cash disbursements for meetings, workshops, and field activities.
• Monitor receivable accounts, reconcile staff advances, and prevent duplicate advances.
• Review payable accounts, including pre‑payments to vendors, and ensure accurate procurement documentation.
• Assist provincial teams with contracting documents for conferences and trainings.
• Process transactions in the Business World financial system and obtain required approvals.
• Verify that all transaction documentation complies with PATH policies and internal procedures.
• Review fuel reconciliations submitted by drivers/logisticians before payment.
• Support project close‑out activities, update inventory, and perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
• Experience in finance operations, preferably within nonprofit or grant‑funded environments.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
• Knowledge of financial policies, fund reconciliation, and procurement processes.
