Technical Coach – Mechanical Fitting

About the role

The Technical Coach, Mechanical Fitting will support the fitting artisans and technicians at Kansanshi Smelter by delivering on‑the‑job coaching, formal training and technical oversight. The role ensures compliance with mechanical codes and safety standards while fostering a continuous learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to health, safety, environment, quality, finance and HR policies relevant to the function.
• Provide on‑the‑job coaching and deliver structured training sessions based on identified skill gaps.
• Prepare training materials and collaborate with the KMP Training Department for formal modules.
• Champion quality on the shop floor, support fault diagnosis and corrective actions to minimise downtime.
• Design, conduct and record assessments using the FQM Proficiency Framework and learning management tools.
• Identify high‑potential artisans, track their development and report on the impact of coaching initiatives.
• Work closely with the training department to define ongoing training needs.

• Experience in assessing skill gaps and delivering targeted interventions.
