Digital Lending Senior Loan Officer – Zambia

About the role

LendGo is a fast‑growing digital micro‑lending fintech seeking a senior professional to lead its loan portfolio in Zambia. The Senior Loan Officer will own the end‑to‑end loan book, driving growth while maintaining strong credit quality and collection performance.

Key responsibilities

• Build, manage and scale a high‑performing loan portfolio, balancing growth, profitability and risk.
• Design and implement advanced underwriting frameworks using alternative data and AI‑driven credit models.
• Monitor portfolio performance, adjust credit policies and take corrective actions to preserve asset quality.
• Lead fraud detection and prevention initiatives across the lending lifecycle.
• Develop and execute collections and recovery strategies, working with internal and external partners.
• Ensure compliance with Zambian credit legislation, banking regulations and industry best practices.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in lending, credit risk or digital finance, preferably within fintech or micro‑finance.
• Proven track record of building and growing a profitable loan book.
• Deep knowledge of Zambian credit legislation (BFSA, Credit Reporting Act, Data Protection Act).
• Degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Data Science or related field; postgraduate qualifications are a plus.
• Strong history of achieving high collection and recovery rates and reducing fraud losses.
