Finance and Grants Officer

About the role

Action Against Hunger is seeking a Finance and Grants Officer to manage daily financial transactions and grant administration for its Zambia operations. Reporting to the Support Services Manager, the officer will ensure accurate budgeting, compliance with donor and regulatory requirements, and effective use of resources.

Key responsibilities

• Execute day‑to‑day financial transactions and manage budgets for ACF‑Zambia.
• Prepare and submit accurate accountancy bundles and financial reports on schedule.
• Maintain compliance with internal policies, IFRS, and Zambian government regulations.
• Conduct bank reconciliations before the 5th of each month and verify bankbooks.
• Record monthly commitments, recharges, and analytical entries.
• Collaborate with program managers, logistics, and administration teams to share budgetary information and ensure procurement policy adherence.
• Disseminate accounting procedures and provide training to staff and country offices.

Required profile

• Experience in financial management and grant administration within an NGO or humanitarian context.
• Familiarity with donor guidelines, IFRS, and governmental financial regulations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
