Sector Head – Agribusiness – Corporate Investment Banking

About the role

The Sector Head – Agribusiness will provide strategic leadership to position Access Bank Zambia as the preferred financial partner for the agribusiness sector. Reporting to the Group Head of Corporate Investment Banking, the role drives growth through sector‑specific strategies, client relationship building, and innovative financing solutions that support Zambia’s agricultural transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a 5‑year agribusiness growth strategy aligned with the bank’s corporate objectives.
• Position the bank as a leader in financing agriculture, agro‑processing, and value‑chain development.
• Lead acquisition of new agribusiness clients, focusing on high‑value accounts and strategic partnerships.
• Expand the bank’s footprint in rural and semi‑urban markets through tailored outreach programs.
• Cross‑sell treasury, trade finance, insurance, and digital banking solutions to agribusiness clients.
• Develop sector‑specific risk frameworks and conduct in‑depth credit analysis considering commodity cycles, weather risks, and supply‑chain dynamics.
• Monitor loan performance, ensure asset quality, and maintain regulatory compliance.
• Manage and grow the agribusiness portfolio, tracking KPIs such as revenue contribution, loan recovery rates, and client retention.
• Represent the bank in national agricultural forums, government initiatives, and donor programs.

Required profile

• Self‑motivated, enthusiastic and innovative professional.
• Proven experience in agribusiness financing and corporate investment banking.
• Strong track record in business development and client relationship management.
• Ability to develop and implement sector strategies and risk frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills with stakeholders across government, NGOs and development finance institutions.
