Temporary Finance Officer – REACH Malaria

About the role

PATH is seeking a Temporary Finance Officer to support the US Department of State‑funded REACH Malaria project in Zambia. The role provides finance and operations assistance to the Senior Finance and Awards Manager throughout the contract period ending 31 December 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Process program advances for project activities and ensure timely reconciliation.
• Review and process vendor invoices in the Business World financial system.
• Administer funds, manage cash disbursements for meetings, workshops, and field activities, and maintain complete documentation.
• Monitor receivable and payable accounts, preventing duplicate advances and ensuring pre‑payments are accurate.
• Support provincial teams with contracting documents for conferences and trainings.
• Validate procurements for accuracy before entry into the financial system.
• Process transactions in Business World, securing appropriate approvals and compliance with PATH policies.
• Review fuel reconciliations submitted by drivers/logisticians prior to payment.
• Assist the project team with year‑end close‑out and inventory updates.

Required profile

• Experience providing finance and operations support in a nonprofit or development setting.
• Ability to handle program advances, vendor payments, and cash disbursements.
• Familiarity with financial documentation, reconciliation, and compliance procedures.
• Capability to work with provincial teams and manage contracting paperwork.
• Strong attention to detail for procurement review and inventory management.
